Even Healthy People Die

Standard

You hear about all of the healthy things you should be doing, like eating right and exercising. That is all fine and good, but have you ever heard of a person who has lived forever? Of course not! There is no such thing. And there probably never will be.

True, doing “healthy things” may prolong your life. On the other hand, it may not. There are plenty of instances of people who ate right and exercised every day, and still died young.

I’m not saying that living healthy is wrong. What I am saying is that you should live your life in the way that makes you happy.

enjoyIf you enjoy fine dining or eating snack foods, why should you deprive yourself of them? If you don’t like how you look afterward, you can do something about that, too. However, you may want to consider how important that is to you. Will it make you happy to go without? Will it make you happy to not be able to hang out with your friends, or deprive yourself of eating and drinking  and enjoying life while you are hanging out with them? Think about people who love you for who you are. Sure, they will love you 20 pounds lighter, but you may become a grouch as you deprive yourself and work towards that goal.

It is time to reevaluate what is important to us, and not put so much importance on how others think we should be living. Fat or skinny, healthy or unhealthy, no one comes out of this alive. As cliche as it sounds: It is not so much important as to how or when you die, rather how you live and enjoy your life that matters.
